David Cameron In Saudi Arabia. Why?

MPs questioned why, given the unrest in Saudi Arabia early last year, licences had not been revoked as part of the Government's review of arms sales to the Middle East and North Africa. They asked: "Why does the UK believe that the assurances relating to end-use will not be breached?"
The Government sees strong relations with the Saudis as vital to advancing Britain's 'interests' in the region on a range of issues including 'energy security, counter-terrorism and political reform'.
Meanwhile, Foreign Secretary William Hague has warned that Britain "must respect" the choices made by voters in countries that have ousted repressive regimes, even if they are considered extremist by the West.

WITC say: If Britain 'must respect' the Arab Spring protesters why is Cameron in SA to sell arms, and let's face it, that is his only reason, to a country with an appalling human rights record. SA has directly collaborated in the repression in Bahrein. The CS gas canisters (one in pic above) used against protestors in Egypt last year were traced back to Britain. We are essentially selling the tools of repression to dictatorships while giving verbal support to the protestors. Cameron is lucky so few people in the country take an interest in foreign affairs. The press and 'opposition' (Blair and Brown were no better) have no excuse.

  1. There might be more to this than just the selling of weapons.
Circling the wagons on Iran must have come up.
    Also the Sunni/Shia in Iraq.
Along with KSA and Britains ally Israel.
KSA is heading and funding the GCC along with Kuwait, U.A.E. and Oman. The GCC is now the GULF/NATO cog.
KSA along with America has funded the Mujahadeen through Pakistan.
    These ties go way back.
They must have had a cup of tea to figure out their next choke point move.
Where is T.E. Lawrence when you need him most? LOL
