In its monthly report regarding the number of casualties in Iraq released on May 1, UNAMI revealed that 410 civilians were killed and 973 others injured in acts of terrorism, violence and armed conflicts. Regarding the military casualty figures, the toll reports the death of a total of 331 members of the Iraqi security forces, including Kurdish Peshmerga forces, SWAT and militias fighting alongside the Iraqi Army, but excluding Anbar Operations, were killed and 401 others injured. The overall casualty figures are down from the previous month of March, where a total of 1,119 were killed and 1,561 were injured, according to the report.
