The Delusions of Bush
George Bush says the writers of history will praise America for "victory" in Iraq.
Addressing US forces in the dangerous killing fields of Kuwait, the US President said: "It's hard work that you're doing, but it's necessary work.Bush addresses the troops"There is no doubt in my mind that we will succeed. There is no doubt in my mind that when history is written, the final page will say, 'Victory was achieved by the United States of America for the good of the world'." Bush said he has not decided whether to bring more soldiers home than the 30,000 scheduled to leave Iraq by July. He said he has made no decision on bringing more US troops home from Iraq, and if his top commander does not want to go beyond the planned reduction of forces "that's fine with me".He said the additional troops he ordered in a year ago had turned the country into a place where "hope is returning". The latest(flawed)casualty count in Iraq suggests that 'only' 151,000 Iraqis have died since the invasion. 'Progress', eh?
