Security Company Misled Australian Govt. On Iraq Deaths
Unity is a Dubai-based security company owned by three Australian former soldiers. It has provided security and bodyguard services at Australia's Baghdad embassy since December.
It was involved in two fatal shooting incidents in Baghdad in 2006 and 2007, which resulted in the death of an Australian professor and two local women.
In the 2007 incident, a group of Unity guards fired up to 40 rounds into a car they felt had strayed too close. Two women in the car, Marani Manook and Genevia Antranick, were killed.
