Nonsense. If they are that inept and dysfunctional, then they should hire you, me and James. LOL They are acting as if Egypt was a closed society as the Soviet Union, or N/Korea. It is not. The West as many intel boots on the ground in Egypt. Their military is basically our [Israeli} military. As soon as Tunisia got lit up, Egypt knew they were next. Just as the Saudi's are afraid they are next now also. We have contingency plans for every possible situation in the world.
If they were truly shocked and unprepared for this. Then that can only mean one thing. The West thought, and believed that Mubarak had a tighter hold on his society than what he had. This makes it even worst for the West complicity then.
I think they thought Mubarak was unassailable. He is still there de facto, I suppose. I also notice the WH and CNN et al. are perpetrating a common mistake about the Muslim Brotherhood. They are confusing their putative involvement in the parliamentary process with involvement in future Presidential Elections. Makes it easier to scaremonger about them. This confusion is now being widely disseminated by the US media.
