Nato Incompetence Transfers To Libya From Afghanistan

From the BBC today. H/T anonymous commenter on the site yesterday. See also here at Reality Zone
'' Whether or not a NATO pilot mistook all of that heavy armour for pro-Gaddafi weaponry remains unclear.
Following the Nato attack, ambulances were seen heading in the opposite direction, towards the hospital in Ajdabiya.
There is considerable anger among rebel troops after what appears to have been a terrible mistake.
They are asking why rebel units were hit, when they could be seen clearly advancing in a westerly direction towards the front line.
"It is unbelievable," said one Benghazi resident. "Nato, with all the equipment they have - is this the second mistake? Is it really a mistake or something arranged secretly?"

A breather for Afghan villagers for a while while Nato boneheads attack their own allies in Libya.

  1. "Is it really a mistake"?

IMHO It is possible, and the West is capable of allowing the rebels to lose, retreat, etc, in order to use that as a justification to enter Libya with full force.
    Every action has a reaction.
Justification needs to be in place for an all out boots on the ground.

Could the West declare eventual victory is Libya is partitioned?
A Balkanization where Eastern Libya [where the oil is] is under Western rebel puppet control.

  2. All possible, RZ. But my own handle on NATO, as you will be aware from your previous visits to this site, is that the prevailing force is incompetence. I don't believe the coherence or intelligence exists anywhere in the NATO travelling farce to concoct a scheme as machiavellian as you attribute to them. Not that they wouldn't stoop to it. I know it's the Pentagon-led White House who lead NATO by the nose. But neither is that the constituency of the intelligent.
