Tony Blair's Australian Tour - Ticket Prices Slashed

Organisers of Blair's latest tour in Australia and New Zealand have had to slash the prices of tickets by half to fill up empty tables. In Brisbane, the cost of joining with the Conqueror of Baghdad had to be cut from £640 to £320. Likewise in Auckland, where they would have had empty chairs if the price hadn’t dropped from £500 to £250. As it is horrendous for Blair to be making money out of a failed and bloodstained premiership. Far from getting rich on the lecture circuit, Mr Blair should be doing penitential charity work in the children’s wards of one of the many cities he helped to bomb and shell. Peter Hitchens wrote recently that Blair didn't know, weeks before he became PM, that they spoke Portuguese in Brazil. Another reason to regret that he ever took us all in.
Liberal Democrat minister Norman Baker said: "The man is completely shameless and is cashing in on his previous position as prime minister. He wanders around the world with a 'for sale' sign round his neck and doesn't mind who he works for, just as long as they pay him money. The man is a national embarrassment."
Conservative MP Douglas Carswell said: "Given there is rather a lot happening in theMiddle East, I would have thought Mr Blair - as peace envoy - has a lot on his plate at the moment. Perhaps he should focus his attentions there, rather than gallivanting around the world at the behest of discredited corporate interests."
