Turkey had a complex decision to make re ISIS. 20% of the Turkish population are sympathetic to the PPK. Another 20% are Shia/Alawites. Turkey is also afraid of Russia and what Putin's reaction would be to their taking a more proactive NATO stance. Why should they trust the US when the US have just essentially betrayed the Kurds in pursuit of their own USraeli agenda?
