Tony Blair - Christ and Carnage
I attended a very good talk given by Tony Blair to the Faith Foundation in Tel Aviv last week. An audience including Rupert Murdoch and Sarah Palin heard Mr. Blair deliver a lecture entitled 'The role of White Phosphorus in the Teachings of Jesus'

Blair defended his decision to support the United States in its war in Iraq during an appearance Wednesday evening in Alumni Arena on the University at Buffalo’s North Campus in Amherst. Blair said that 'while he respected those who disagreed', he took a different view.
“The important thing about politics sometimes is to realize that decisions are very, very difficult to make,” Blair said. “I don’t condemn anybody who opposed the decision I took . . . or somebody who would surrender to terrorism. I don’t disrespect people who took a different view at all.”
He said that he made the right decision in supporting Bush on the war and that the world was a better place after Saddam Hussein was removed.A group of demonstrators arranged by the Peace, Justice and Anti-War Coalition on Wednesday held a protest and boycott of the appearance by Blair, accusing him of being a war criminal for sanctioning the war in Iraq, which they said has led to the killing of up to 2 million Iraqis in violation of the Geneva Conventions, the Nuremberg Principles and the United Nations.Blair received $150,000, plus travel and expenses for four people accompanying him. James R. Holstun, a UB professor of English and president of the coalition, criticized Blair as co-author, with Bush, of the Iraq War. He also accused UB of censorship for prescreening questions that were put to Blair. Blair is now the US and Israeli sponsored 'Middle East Peace Envoy'. Humour doesn't get any blacker than that.
