KABUL — Hundreds of Afghans took to the streets of Mazar-i-Sharif on Saturday to protest against mounting civilian deaths as the new U.S. and NATO commander considers loosening combat rules to better protect foreign troops. The protesters chanted slogans against foreign forces and Afghan President Hamid Karzai after U.S. troops killed two civilians and arrested three others during a pre-dawn raid on Wednesday in the northern city's outskirts.NATO admitted killing six people with stray artillery on Thursday, a day after an airstrike accidentally killed five Afghan soldiers.Civilian casualties and friendly fire deaths among Afghan security forces have been a frequent irritant between Karzai and Western military forces during the nine-year war since the ousting of the Taliban in 2001. As we sometimes like to say on this side of the pond.
ReplyDelete---It is going to get hot and heavy now.---
The U.S./NATO troops and their agenda is even more committed now than ever. Especially since they now have their fear less leader Patreus.
Kandahar has started.
They will have to keep the MSM away.
Are there any personal bloggers in Afghanistan that you might know about?

Tahera,
Welcome on here. The blog you were looking for, Afghanistan War, is linked at the right hand side on this site at the top of the blog list.
Tony:
ReplyDeleteThanks for the list.
I hate you. :-)LOL
I book marked it, as this is exactly what I have been looking for. This should keep me busy for some time. LOL
Ya, I checked her blog out. Very nice. I hit her follow button and put her on my blog roll.
This is excellent.
I will show the list of blogs to some of my friends also.
This is what needs to get out on the internet. As I believe the MSM will be giving us more lip service, and DISinformation.
Welcome,RZ. Happy reading.
