An American On Cheneyism

This was a comment by a guy called Jeff Egley on the Political Wire Blog. I am reproducing it because it is succinctly accurate. "We will be greeted with candy, chocolate, flowers, and balloons." -Cheney on Iraq. No, man, you're gonna be greeted with Kalashnikovs, anti-tank and anti-personnel land mines, IEDs and RPGs from ex-Iraqi Army troops you'd eventually fire (almost all 400,000 of them), rocks in the air from children, Molotovs from college students, angry spit and dirty looks from impoverished citizens and the elderly. And also create one giant helluva mess that will get many a very young, potentially promising in the future, and naive American G.I slain or seriously injured who should have been assigned a more constructive task elsewhere-- such as, you know, traditionally guarding a tiny little Latvian military base from the Russian Baltic Fleet. (where we all know nothing's gonna happen.)
...I grow very frustrated, weary, and tired of the further our great nation is sinking into debt, hate, and stagnation.
Barack has it tough. John McCain doesn't have to preside over an exhausted empire in decline like he has to.
