One of the biggest manufacturers of drones for the US and her satraps is General Atomics.They do not like the word 'drone' which they fear has pejorative, warmongering connotations and have complained about its use by media and government spokespersons in the US and UK. They prefer 'Unmanned Aerial Vehicle' (UAV). Remember, this is the firm which names their main products, 'Reaper' and 'Predator'. They were reported to be very annoyed by the use of the word 'drone' by Obama in his State of the Union speech last week. First control the language and then you can control the message seems to be their keynote. As Bill Hicks might have put it - 'Let's go for the sanitised carnage dollar, guys'.
