Britain and The Failed Wars

The Direction of War, by Hew Strachan, review - Telegraph:
Con Coughlin is a militarist warmonger. But even he can't hide the obvious, shambolic truth.

"Strachan is particularly critical of the phrase “global war on terror”, coined by President George W Bush and unquestioningly adopted by Tony Blair, to describe the various conflicts that arose in the Muslim world in the wake of 9/11. The phrase, Strachan remarks acidly at the start of the book, “was a statement of policy; it was not a statement of strategy”."
