For some reason, maybe the shape of the lone figure, Edvard Munch's,"The Scream," comes to mind ... a sense of isolation ...
Yes, I see what you mean, Teresa. All these East London Group paintings I've posted have a sense of the landscape, now vanished, as the subject. The few human figures who appear in them seem lonely and insignificant somehow.
