Turkey says nine dead in clash with Isis suspects

Turkey says nine dead in clash with Isis suspects | World news | The Guardian:

The state-run Anadolu agency said two police officers were killed by booby-trap bombs during the operation in the city of Diyarbakır. Four other officers were injured.

Anadolu did not give a figure for the number of militants who died, but the Dogan news agency said seven were killed in a shootout while three others were arrested.

It was not immediately clear if the operation was linked to the suicide bombings of a peace rally in the capital Ankara this month that killed 102 people. One of the bombers was identified by Turkish authorities as an Isis militant.
