It's worth adding that Straw despite his reservations in writing to Blair:
- Defended the invasion to Parliament
- Defended the debacle even after the shambles of the occupation
- played footsie with Condoleeza Rice on American foreign policy generally even inviting her to the UK (a plan abandoned due to the outrage it would have caused).
They are all trying to cover their own asses, just in case the truth ever comes out.
ReplyDeleteThe truth is dribbling out, RZ. The Chilcott Inquiry looks increasingly like a rogues' gallery. Blair in the next fortnight. He is as slippery as they come but the gloss (and the grease) is coming off him slowly but surely.
